THE CHALLENGE
This thoughtfully designed apartment, embodies a minimalist aesthetic subtly enriched with timeless and iconic design pieces. The brief called for an open, elegant, and functional space suitable for comfortable family living. The result is a refined interior that blends classic sensibility with contemporary sophistication. This interior is a quiet celebration of form, function, and the enduring appeal of design classics.
An exposed steel ceiling structure and industrial-style metal joinery introduced a raw, structural element that contrasts harmoniously with the overall warmth and elegance of the space. The design centers around iconic furniture, including Pierre Jeanneret’s Chandigarh chairs and armchairs, Serge Mouille’s lighting fixtures, and bespoke accent pieces such as a teak wood lamp and coffee table by Dutch design duo Xander Vervoort and Leon van Boxtel.
The dining area features a statement table designed by Rodolfo Dordoni for Molteni & Dada, while the kitchen is fitted with sleek Valcucine cabinetry. The master bedroom is anchored by a luxurious bed from Austrian brand Wittmann. Carefully curated Bang & Olufsen audio pieces, both vintage and modern—like the timeless 1960s radio—add a layer of cultural and design heritage, tying the whole concept together.
